This is Lucky Dog Hot Sauce's Black Label and is the first of their sauce I have tried. What really drew me to want to try this sauce is first off, the great buzz I keep hearing about Lucky Dog and second, the unique list of ingredients including Moruga scorpion chilies, California mission figs and organic applesauce.
Label 5/5: Lucky Dog is one of those companies that uses the same label on all of their sauces, but is one of the few to make it work really well. The design is really classy and features the owner's dog Lucky.
Aroma 5/5: Right off the bat I get hit with the copious amounts of garlic in the sauce. I can also smell the onions and the chilies cutting through and creates an overall savory treat for the nostrils.
Texture 5/5: If there is such thing as the perfect texture, this sauce has it! It pours out smooth and thick, while showcasing a well blended consistency.
Flavor 5/5: This sauce is hands down the best tasting sauce I have tried to date! It exudes a masterful balance between savory and sweet with all of the ingredients harmonizing into an opus of chilihead delight! One dish I tried this on that it worked so well on was carnitas tacos. This sauce goes well with all meats and just about anything you can think of.
Heat 4/5: While the Black Label is the hottest of their line of sauces, it is not so overly hot that it looses its enjoyability. For the average person, this sauce will be nuclear. But for all you chiliheads the sauce brings plenty of heat but won't melt off your tongue.
Overall: 24/25: This is the closest I have come to giving a perfect score and rightfully so. Lucky Dog's Black Label has become my newest favorite within the hot sauce universe. I can't wait to try the rest of their sauces and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! So don't hesitate to stop by at http://lucky-dog-hot-sauce.myshopify.com and pick yourself up a bottle. This sauce is truly food's best friend!
